Megavia Corporation is now firmly established as the exclusive distributor of Philip Morris Philippines Manufacturing Incorporated’s (PMPMI) premium cigarette brands (e.g., Marlboro, Philip Morris) in the Philippines spanning North National Capital Region, Western Visayas and Southern Mindanao. As PMPMI’s largest distributor in the country, Megavia accounts for 35% of total Philip Morris sales. The subsidiary formally started operations in January 2003.
Megavia operates through its 3 regional bases of distribution:
- Western Visayas – distributes Philip Morris products in Negros and Panay Islands (including Siquijor and Guimaras). Its sales force consist of 18 sales teams and 18 vans covering 3,500 stores. SKUs carried: 22
- Southern Mindanao – a newly-awarded territory of cigarette giant Philip Morris in July 2006. Megavia’s southern Mindanao distribution arm is the main source of cigarettes for the provinces of Davao and Cotabato. It has a sales force of 24 teams and a fleet of 24 vans managing 10,700 stores.
